My Mom and I had a garage sale on March 15th before the Texas heat hit us like today (it's 91'). It was her very first and it was an experience for the both of us.

I don't really know why I am so turned off by selling to the public. I was dreading it every step of the way. Although I did have a bunch of stuff of value that I just did not want to give away, yet.

We only went 1 day (absolute must!) from 7am, and by noon we had nothing left. A swarm of bargain hunters bought everything in sight.

It's funny though, people don't buy what you think will sell and buy what you think won't sell. It's weird.

I blanketed the area with about 25 signs and placed a free ad on Craigslist. I did not want to place a newspaper ad and start $25 in the hole.

All together we made about $360. Not for 5+ hours work. And nowadays I am doing what I can to make extra money on the side.

For example I send my UPCs from the products I buy for free food vouchers. (ref: no coupon clipping ebook-google it) And I have started an intern program to hopefully learn how to make an online income (ref: OnlineBusinessInternProgram.com).

These days every extra dollar really helps.

Hopefully this law won't get passed or at least it will be tied up it litigation for a very long time.

Americans are sick and tired of being taxed to death for every little thing, even garage sales! It has been said that we have a tax rate at twice that of the time of Boston Tea Party. That's why I am all for a flat tax. Abolish every other tax and only have a usage tax. If you don't want to pay the tax don't buy the item. Maybe then the politician will stop spending money on cherry wood desks and luxury car leases with our hard earned money.

Regardless of what happens with this legal battle. People will find a way around it. no matter what.

This lawsuit doesn't surprise me. I figured eventually the govt' would want to add sales tax to all sales, even those across states.

If this sort of laws do get passed, it certainly has a huge impact on affiliate marketing programs that's for sure.
I guess with the power of the internet and technological advancements, the law is starting to catch up so it can also have a share of what's been happening in the world wide web.
